I wrote an article that mentioned how important  understanding and meeting user requirements is.  Understanding it has become a paramount concern for businesses and organizations striving to deliver products and services that truly resonate with their target audience. To achieve this, a base structured approach is essential—one that allows you to expand upon it based on user needs and expectations effectively. This article introduces you to a brief practical workflow as a base of creating streamline the process of understanding user requirements that I currently implement.

      [1] Project Initiation

project initiation, involves several key activities to ensure that the project is well-understood, properly planned, and aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. Here is few important item that need to be defined:

Project objectives and scope.
Key stakeholders and their roles.
Project manager's authority and responsibilities.
Initial budget and resources.
High-level timeline and milestones.
Risks and assumptions.

[2] User: Create problem and requirement definition

In this phase, we need to do back and forth on understanding few things:

Expected user persona: Profile of user that will use this product/feature.
User Story:a journey on how the user uses the features and expected delivery method
Initial solution which was proposed by the user.
Users create a thorough persona of the proposed target feature.
Expected product life cycle.

[3] Dev: Create solution and technical proposal:

Translate user story into technical interpretation
Analyze initial solution proposal while benchmark it to existing product which has some similarity.
Create a technical proposal to enhance the initial proposal or might give an alternative solution which is more accurate to the expected target.

      [4] Dev: Design Development Cycle

In this part, we will work on breaking down the task approved by stakeholder into digestible pieces which we could estimate how to work on each. Here is an example of items that I would like to emphasis:

Work Package Structure (WPS)
Task Breakdown
Development Schedule
Task delivery
Project Management Cycle

This workflow is quite straightforward yet sometimes it gets neglected. Hopefully this post could raise awareness on how important the initial state of development is and this could be a good reference for you to start your project. I always welcome any opinion in regards to improving my way of doing things. Cheers!

Interesting article. Just being curious: Which one comes first? Creating user stories or mapping the user persona?
